Who we are

AutoQB (autoqb.com) is an educational website that publishes plain-English guides to understanding car insurance quotes and coverage. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email info@autoqb.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the subject and message you write. When you sign up for updates, we collect your name, email address, your mobile phone number if you choose to provide it, and the consent choices you make on the form.

Information sent with a form submission. When you submit a form, we also record your IP address, your browser details (the user agent your browser reports), the date and time of the submission, and the page the form was submitted from. We keep this information so we can show when and how consent was given and to help prevent spam and abuse.

Server logs. Like most websites, the server that hosts AutoQB may keep standard technical logs of requests, such as IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and browser details. These are used to operate and secure the site.

We do not use your information to make decisions about insurance, credit or eligibility of any kind. AutoQB does not offer those products.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us run the website and deliver messages, such as our web host and email or text message delivery providers. They may use it only to provide services to AutoQB. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of AutoQB, our visitors or others.

Mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from all the categories of sharing described above and will not be shared with any third parties.

Cookies, fonts and third-party requests

AutoQB does not use advertising trackers, and it does not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Our pages use fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details as part of that request. Google's handling of that information is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Our guides link to official public resources and other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

How long we keep information

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. We keep sign-up details for as long as you remain subscribed. We may keep a record of your consent, and of any opt-out, for as long as needed to demonstrate that we honored your choices. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Email: use the unsubscribe link in any email from AutoQB, or email info@autoqb.com.
Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. See our Mobile Policy.
Access, correction and deletion: email info@autoqb.com to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Depending on the state where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state law. We will respond to requests as those laws require.

How we protect information

Form submissions are stored in a location on our server that cannot be reached from the web, and access is limited. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. Please don't send sensitive details, such as policy, account or Social Security numbers, through our forms.

Children's privacy

AutoQB is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@autoqb.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make a material change to how we use personal information, we will make that clear on this page before the change takes effect.
